Country Chronicle August Cooler

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups fruit juice
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ginger ale, for serving

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil; remove from heat, add fruit & lemon juices.
  • 2 pour mixture into ice cube trays or loaf or cake pans to partially freeze.
  • 3 remove from trays or pans and whip or blend until smooth.
  • 4 refreeze or use immediately.
  • 5 serve: fill tumbler half to two-thirds full of slush, then cover with gingerale.
