Garlic Pickled Green Beans

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 3/4 cups wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 6 black peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons dill seeds
  • 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan combine 1 teaspoons.
  • 2 of the salt with the vinegar, sugar, garlic, bay leaves, onions, peppercorns and dill seed.
  • 3 place the pan over moderate heat and bring liquid to a boil.
  • 4 reduce heat to low, cover the pan and simmer for 30 minutes.

  • 12 seal, and boil in a hot water bath for 10 minutes store in a dark, cool place.
