Maple Walnut Granola

Ingredients

  • 5 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 3/4 cup oat bran
  • 1/2 cup flax seed meal
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup skim milk powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup light syrup
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 250 degrees. chop walnuts. combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl with wooden spoon. add oil, syrup and maple flavoring. mix together thoroughly using the back of a spoon. distribute the mixture evenly onto 3 cookie sheets. place in the oven and bake or 45-60 minutes stirring every 15 minutes. i often stir mine only once so i get big chunks in my granola. once you take the granola out of the oven, cool completely before eating or storing in an airtight container.
