Pepperseed Thin Bread

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon anise seed
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup oil

Recipe

  • 1 bruise fennel and anise in mortar and pestle or with rolling pin.
  • 2 mix with flour, sugar, baking powder, and pepper in large bowl.
  • 3 make well in center, add water and oil.
  • 4 gradually draw flour in until all in incorporated.
  • 5 knead dough on lightly floured surface until it forms a smooth ball.
  • 6 cover with plastic and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • 7 preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 8 divide dough into 10 pieces.
  • 9 roll each piece into an 8-inch ground.
  • 10 place on a greased baking sheet.
  • 11 bake until light brown- about 8 minutes, and cool.
