Everyday Potatoes

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 -4 large brown potatoes (depending on how many you are serving)
  • 2 tablespoons goya adobo seasoning (i prefer goya, gives it a special taste) or 2 tablespoons lawry's seasoned salt (i prefer goya, gives it a special taste)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, to taste (also it gives it a great color)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
  • 1 (1/4 ounce) envelope sazon goya con culantro y achiote
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 green bell pepper
  • 1/4 yellow onion, diced (or however much you like, i'm not big on onions)
  • 1/4 yellow bell pepper
  • olive oil (i use extra virgin) or butter, which ever is best..or both
  • 2 -3 slices bacon, cut into chunks. you can exclude bacon if you like

Recipe

  • 1 cut potatoes into medium sized chunks, make sure that they are clean before they enter skillet. rinse well!
  • 2 heat skillet on medium low, and add olive oil or butter.
  • 3 once potatoes are clean and skillet is hot, add potatoes into the skillet.
  • 4 if you are using bacon or any other meat, cook your potatoes for about 5 mins, remove potatoes, and add your bacon, cook for about 2-3 mins, then add bell pepper, and onion. cook for about 3 mins, and add potatoes back.
  • 5 add adobo, sazon, garlic powder, and pepper. stir so that it can be distributed evenly.
  • 6 cook for about 5 mins, then add chili powder.
  • 7 add water, and cover, let simmer for about 10 mins or until potatoes are tender. if you like spicy food, then add chili flakes or whatever spicy ingredients you like before of course you cover up and start to simmer potatoes.
  • 8 if you like somewhat hard, crispy potates, you can exclude the water and just cook for about 10 mins or until done.
  • 9 then serve with favorite beverage(s) and enjoy!
