Onion Strings With Southwestern Ranch Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

- 1 large vidalia onion, sliced thinly
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon pepper
- 2 cups buttermilk
- oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
Recipe
- 1 preheat cooking oil to 350 degrees.
- 2 pour the buttermilk in a very large bowl.
- 3 soak the onions in the buttermilk for 15 minutes.
- 4 combine the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- 5 drain the onions.
- 6 toss the onions in the flour mixture.
- 7 once the onions are coated, fry in oil for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
- 8 dipping sauce:.
- 9 combine all the ingredients and mix well. serve with hot onion strings.
