oatmeal drop cookies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

    Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins Ready Time: 1 hr

  • preheat the oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c). sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir in the oats and set aside. grease cookie sheets.
  • in a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until light. beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. stir in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. fold in the raisins and walnuts. drop by rounded spoonfuls the prepared cookie sheets.
  • bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
