oatmeal drop cookies

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup raisins
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

- preheat the oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c). sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir in the oats and set aside. grease cookie sheets.
- in a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until light. beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. stir in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. fold in the raisins and walnuts. drop by rounded spoonfuls the prepared cookie sheets.
- bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
