Rice Soy Dish

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/4-3 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup uncooked extra long grain rice
  • 1 lb 95% lean ground beef
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms (drained net weight)
  • 3 medium onions, chopped (i used 1 very large vidalia onion)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Recipe

  • 1 add salt to water and bring to a rolling boil.
  • 2 add rice, then turn off heat and let stand while preparing the rest of ingredients.
  • 3 cook ground beef with celery and onions in a large skillet. when beef is almost fully cooked, add mushrooms. drain fat.
  • 4 in a 2 quart casserole dish, combine hamburger mixture, rice with water and soy sauce and bake in 325 degree oven covered for 1 hour.
  • 5 uncover and bake an additional 1/2 hour or until fully cooked.
