Picante Chicken And Peppers

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt, to taste (i use seasonall)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 cup picante sauce (your favorite - home made or store bought like pace - the heat of this sauce determines the heat of)

Recipe

  • 1 pound the chicken breast halves with a meat mallet until uniformly about 1/4" thick.
  • 2 sprinkle them with a generous coating of seasoned salt on one side.
  • 3 melt butter in a skillet and saute the chicken breast halves until golden brown, about 3- 5 minutes per side.
  • 4 slice onion into 1/4" thick slices and quarter the slices.
  • 5 cut all peppers into strips about 1/4" wide.
  • 6 add onion, garlic and peppers to the sauteed chicken breasts and saute for a few minutes.
  • 7 add the picante sauce over the top of the chicken and vegetables.
  • 8 cover and simmer for about 5- 10 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  • 9 serve over hot cooked rice.
