St. Louis Barbecue Sauce

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium size saucepan, combine all the ingredients, adjust heat to low and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • 2 remove from heat and cool. store in refrigerator tightly covered. the sauce is better if allowed to sit 24 hours before using.
