Crusty Cornbread

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1/3 cup cooking oil

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450.
  • 2 sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
  • 3 stir in corn meal.
  • 4 combine egg, milk, and oil.
  • 5 add to dry ingredients.
  • 6 pour in greased 8 or 9 inch square pan.
  • 7 bake 25 to 30 minutes.
  • 8 let cool 5 minutes before cutting into 2 inch squares.
